Resist not evil / ?? ????????? ?????

(Rom 2:14-29; Mt 5:33-41). “But I say unto you: resist not evil”; rather, offer yourself as a sacrifice to the other people’s willfulness and hatred. Does it seem that it is impossible to live in this manner? Do not be troubled. He Who gave this commandment is also our Provider and Caretaker. When you desire with complete faith and with all of your heart to live in such a manner that you do not “resist evil,” then the Lord will himself arrange your life so that it is not only bearable, but even happy. In fact, it often happens that resistance further irritates one’s opponent, causing him to devise further troubles, while concession disarms and humbles him. Thus it happens that if you merely endure the first onslaughts of evil, people will be pacified and leave you in peace. Resistance and revenge, on the other hand, flare up into hatred that passes from an individual to a family, and then from one generation to another.
