Lifeboats, ships of souls

The lifeboat exercise is immoral,
    A nasty bit of situational ethics,
   A dispassionate triage;
   The dim light of reason
   Illuminates the hypothetical,
Decisions about the soul cannot be made
   In the hypothetical,
   Or with dispassionate reasoning.

Evenso, reason made me lighten the lifeboat today.

I hate the lifeboat exercise;
It is not hypothetical.
