Father, Bless,

Is it that the humble do good without knowing they have done good or is it that they no longer think of doing good as anything worth bragging about. Just as I don't congratulate myself or think anyone should praise me for not murdering or stealing, I imagine that the truly humble don't consider things that are (or should be) as natural as breathing to be praiseworthy.

As it is, I think myself almost a saint if I simply keep my mouth shut when I am angry. True humility would recognize that refraining from sinning is not something to be congratulated but simply our reasonable service to the Lord and the reflex of Love.
