Father, bless!

I have been reading about relief efforts in Haiti and what is needed. I saw an interesting project about solar ovens, which can be used to purify water. In addition they can be used to cook food, are lightweight, portable, and often collapsible so they are easily moved. The average Haitian family spends 55% of its income on charcoal for cooking, and Haiti has lost 98% of its forest.

In my humble opinion, solar ovens would provide for both immediate needs for water purification, and long-term for sustainability and an economic boost to families who perhaps can use some of the budget they used for charcoal to improve their living conditions. The link I found was http://www.gbgm-umc.org/solarovenshaiti/. I submit this so that the Fund for Assistance could perhaps consider this project, which has been in operation for a number of years.
