As I read, quite many Russian confessors of Faith compared people with candles, called their spiritual children to be like a candle. For example, schema-archimandrite John (Maslov) told once his spiritual daughter: "Be a burning candle, so that others could get warmth from your fire". Bless. How beautifully put!
