As I, for example, do it another way: I do or try to do or think I do...something, which in my view, is good, or something which should be a part of our Christian life - fasting, praying, or fighting with bad thoughts, and with hidden hope that God should do something for me....for that. It's so silly, and helpless, I don't mention it's far away from righteousness - that goes without saying. And if I don't see the "result", I am upset. Though I know that the result is there, as God hears us. And "He hears us much better than we would like Him to", as C.S.Lewis wrote. But I often do not notice the result, or it is not the one I expected. Jumping then at hasty conslusions, like claiming there is nothing in the room, though the room is completely dark & we simply cannot see the objects there. We know it is dark, and that we cannot see in the total darkness, but we are sure somehow there is nothing in the room. Life isoften like that. With Action based on the Lack of Knowledge.
